Most weeks, I will be talking about great wines to taste.
However, I believe it is just as important to warn you about the bottles which are available in Singapore, but not so tasty...
Remember when I was telling you to be careful about discounts on wine bottles? Usually it means that the bottle isn't (selling) that great...
Here's one which will trick you easily.
Chianti is an Italian "brand" which rings a bell to almost anyone. The sound is elegant, made in Italy is supposed to be a guarantee of quality... but this one is a hit & miss.

Goes at 26.90 SGD instead of 38 SGD, but there is a reason for that!
This wine is totally unbalanced. Right from the beginning, the wine has a strong, unpleasant smell, where you smell that "spike" of alcohol, meaning it feels like the wine is over 20%!
Very little sugar, the taste has a "raw" beginning, too powerful and too short, and no aftertaste. It goes away just as fast as it comes in (which actually is good considering the poor quality of the wine...).
I tried to pair it with appetizers, pasta, meat... nothing works, nothing makes it smoother.
